Ohio law states that during a recount each county is supposed to randomly count at least 3 percent of its ballots by hand and by machine. If there are not discrepancies in those counts, the rest of the votes can be recounted by machine. A full hand-count is ordered if two random samples result in differences.

This case doesn't support the larger one that Ohio was rigged for Bush. It only supports the case that Ohio, at least in Cayahuga County, was fishy.

Good thing today was declared a holiday so the MSM could propagandize the hell out of a guy's death and use it to rewrite history. All it's doing is ramming home the idea of what sellout whores our big media outlets are. Say what you want to about Ford, pay your respects in your own way but, don't lie to me over and over and over again and expect me to believe it just because you repeat the lie a 1000 times.

How shameful is it that we've invaded a country, staged a show trial for its leader and are now planning to hang him? I know Saddam was a bad guy, but it seems to me that the United States should be better than this.

Steel column installed for WTC tower

The 31-foot high white steel column, painted with an American flag and the words "Freedom Tower," was picked up by a crane and set into place on the southern edge of the planned 1,776-foot building. Politicians and workers at the site cheered as the column was installed shortly after 11:30 a.m.

It's ridiculous that the politicians would even consider doing anything but putting the Towers back, IMHO.

Probe Launched by Child Protective Services of Infant Discovered in Barn

Bethlehem, Judea —Authorities were today alerted by a concerned citizen who noticed a family living in a barn.

Upon arrival, Family Protective Services personnel, accompanied by police, took into protective care an infant child named Jesus who had been wrapped in strips of cloth and placed in a feeding trough by his 14-year old mother, Mary of Nazareth.

During the confrontation, a man identified as Joseph, also of Nazareth, attempted to stop the social workers. Joseph, aided by several local shepherds and some unidentified foreigners, tried to forestall efforts to take the child, but were restrained by the police.

Also being held for questioning are three foreigners who allege to be wise men from an eastern country. The INS and Homeland Security officials are seeking information about these men who may be in the country illegally. A source with the INS states that they had no passports, but were in possession of gold and other possibly illegal substances. They resisted arrest, saying that they had been warned by God to avoid officials in Jerusalem and to return quickly to their own country. The chemical substances in their possession will be tested.

The owner of the barn is also being held for questioning. The manager of the Bethlehem Inn faces possible revocation of his license for violating health and safety regulations by allowing people to stay in the stable. Civil authorities are also investigating the zoning violations involved in maintaining livestock in a commercially- zoned district.

The location of the minor child will not be disclosed, and the prospect for a quick resolution to this case is doubtful. We are checking with officials in Nazareth to determine what their legal relationship is."

Joseph has admitted to taking Mary from her home in Nazareth because of a census requirement. Mary was taken to the Bethlehem General Hospital where she is being examined by doctors. Charges may also be filed against her for child endangerment. She will also undergo psychiatric evaluation because of her claim that she is a virgin and that the child is from God.

The director of the psychiatric wing said, "I don't profess to have the right to tell people what to believe, but when their beliefs adversely affect the safety and well-being of others—in this case her child—we must consider her a danger to others. A spokesperson for the governor's office said, "Who knows what was going through their minds? But regardless, their treatment of the child was inexcusable, and the involvement of these others is frightening. A Schweinfurt, Germany-based infantryman who jumped on a grenade to save other troops is being recommended for the Medal of Honor.

The 1st Infantry Division soldier, Spc. Ross Andrew McGinnis, 19, was killed Dec. 4 while on a combat patrol in Baghdad.

Soldiers in his unit said he used his body to cover a grenade that had been thrown into his Humvee by an enemy fighter on a nearby rooftop.

Four people owe their lives to this guy. There is no way this kind of bravery and selflessness could ever be taught.

She said, however, the senator did not suffer a stroke or heart attack. His office had said earlier it was a possible stroke.

I'm glad it wasn't a stroke or heart attack. Here's hoping that they find out exactly what happened and that it's not serious.

I've frequently mocked DUmmies and other moonbats on this blog, but I almost feel guilty after seeing this blog by blogger "spooked". Spook cuts at a steel cage, and when it doesn't do what the twin towers did on 9/11, that somehow proves that the "official" story was a lie. In case you're wondering, this isn't the first time spooked has attempted a debunking of 9/11 that ended up making him look like a huge ass. As spooked911 on Democratic Underground, he "disproved" 9/11 with kerosene and a rabbit hutch.

So, my question is should I keep mocking spooked, or should we all hope that he seeks the professional attention that he so desperately needs?

Sir, if I may have this question. The problem isn't that he was ostracized. If anything, the Republican Party forced him on us, even when we repeatedly told them we didn't want him. Effort was spent on his campaign that could have been focused on Maryland, Missouri, Montana, or Virginia. A win in any of those states would have kept the Senate in Republican control.

The problem with Chafee was that he was a Democrat running against a Democrat. Unfortunately, the Republican Party thought that was a winning matchup.

While watching CNN last night, they were covering the story of Sen. Obama in NH. Suddenly, they flashed this poll showing Obama and Hillary with a big percentage, and the guys that poll highly on DU, (Edwards, Clark, and I think Gore) with single digit numbers. I remember Clark being 2%! WTF! Are we out of touch here? Or are they making this up?

Gee, I wonder why? Maybe because DU is so insulated from anyone to the right of Marx?

so we respond differently here than to most general polls.

A lot can change in the nearly two years we have left before the election. And a lot of things can come to light once the investigations begin that change the way people feel. Those who seem to be comfortable with the status quo might not look so good to a really pissed-off populace.
