Some "tradition", eh?

Since Sen. Johnson's stroke the other day, I've heard of a "tradition" of governors bucking partisanship and appointing Senators of opposing parties after the death of a senator from that party. Here's a list of when that tradition has occured since 1972...

Traditions are such a comfort.

But, seriously, I do not think the Senator will die and I do not think he will resign if he is unable to serve.

I don't think so either, and I wish him the best of health. My only point is that if, God forbid, there were a vacancy, this "tradition" will be cited so frequently to Gov. Rounds that it isn't even funny.
